At Dorset Neuro Physio, we complete an in depth assessment to identify problems and how this is affecting your everyday life.
We listen to your expectations, needs and what is important to you.
It is sometimes useful to gather information from your family, carers or other agencies involved in your care to increase our understanding.
This information will be used to formulate an individualised treatment programme to help you progress, optimise your function and achieve your goals.
This includes hands-on treatment, strength training, core stability and posture work, balance training and gait re-education.
It is important that you feel confident in managing your condition. The therapist will listen, motivate, reassure and empower you so you can do this.
We use the following principles to ensure we meet your needs and maximise your recovery:
- A patient-centred and goal-orientated approach
- Functional and task-specific practice
- Intensive, repetitive practice
- 24-hour approach to consider posture & activity throughout the day
- A problem-solving approach which is reflective and adaptable
- Education, exercise and self-management
